Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBP-supervised destruction?

Destruction carried out at a CBP-bonded facility with a Customs officer witnessing it, or under an approved supervision arrangement. It satisfies CBP that the merchandise never entered US commerce. The witnessed destruction is what releases the shipment and its duty liability.

Most containers are quoted the same day and moved within a few business days of CBP approval. Destruction itself is usually a single day once the container reaches the facility. Timing depends on port congestion and how fast the CBP paperwork clears.

Send the bill of lading, container number and size, the port or terminal, and a description of the commodity. If there is a CBP, FDA or USDA notice, include it. That is normally enough for a firm quote.

Yes. We prepare and file the application for destruction and coordinate the supervision request with the port. You review and sign, we handle the back and forth with CBP.

Yes. GO cargo is one of the most common shipments we handle. We arrange the in-bond move from the GO warehouse to a bonded destruction facility and stop the storage clock.

Depends on port, container size and commodity. Send details and we’ll quote the same day.

In most cases yes, and destruction is often cheaper and faster than re-export. The agency notice sets the deadline and the allowed options. We work to that notice and document the outcome.

Yes, on every job. You receive the Certificate of Destruction along with the supporting closeout documents for your file and your client’s. Weight tickets and photos are available on request.
